Since federal and state legislation can increase the demand for soy biodiesel, the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) has been lobbying for the support of several rulings, especially the extension of the biodiesel tax incentive, which is set to expire Dec. 31, 2009. As of Friday, Dec. 18, legislation had not yet been passed to extend the deadline. What happens next will depend largely on the direction biodiesel supporters in Congress provide. The ISA continues to address this issue by asking members and stakeholders to be vigilant by watching their email and communications from the National Biodiesel Board for action alerts and new information.
